Advising for Student Orgs
Student Life offers advising for student organizations by appointment or during walk-in hours. Students can meet one-on-one to discuss issues that arise in their organization, and can get advice on maximizing their organization’s potential.
Scheduled appointments or meetings during walk-in hours can be used to ask questions about student organizations, ways to get involved on campus, and opportunities within the department.
To schedule an appointment, please email seact@iu.edu. Please see the front desk in the Student Life office (UC-010) for walk-in appointments.
Faculty/Staff advisors
Student Life staff advisors do not replace your faculty/staff advisor. A faculty or staff advisor plays an essential role in the success of a student organization at IU 51ÁÔÆæ. Advisors offer guidance, mentorship, and institutional knowledge that help student leaders navigate challenges, plan responsibly, and stay aligned with university policies. Their support encourages continuity from year to year, strengthens leadership development, and helps organizations create meaningful, sustainable programs that positively impact both their members and the broader campus community.
