Pillar 1, Goal 1

Reduce the cost of higher education

Support open access initiatives and refine work-study programs to enhance affordability, engagement, and academic persistence through high-impact practices and faculty mentoring.

Expand instructional reach and literacy integration

The Library will extend its instructional services across the curriculum by embedding information literacy into more courses. Objectives include partnering with faculty to meet general education learning outcomes and developing direct and indirect measures to assess information literacy skills.

The Library will foster a greater sense of belonging among students, faculty, and staff through inclusive programming and physical space improvements. Objectives include reaching underserved populations and reimagining first-floor stacks to create new teaching and learning spaces aligned with the academic mission.

The Library will prepare students for professional success and lifelong learning by developing information literacy microcredentials and creating internships for work-study students in Access Services.

The Library will strengthen campus recruitment and retention through inclusive, relevant programming and training. Objectives include integrating cultural awareness into professional development, designing welcoming spaces, and using trauma-informed teaching practices in instruction.

The Library will elevate the reach of IU 51ÁÔÆæ scholarship through open digital platforms and expanded services. Objectives include increasing research visibility in IUScholarWorks, strengthening librarian liaisons, and transitioning student publications to open-access formats.

The Library will enhance research assistance and maintain the quality of its physical and digital collections. Objectives include promoting individualized research consultations, conducting regular inventory reviews, and collaborating with departments to promote research tools and services.

The Library will act as a community connector, fostering partnerships with local institutions and promoting shared programming. Objectives include deepening collaboration with the Floyd County Library, expanding social media engagement, and improving the accessibility and integrity of special collections.
