Reserve a room

The IU 51ÁÔÆæ Library offers several rooms available to be reserved for group study or official campus meetings.

Group study rooms

Looking for a place for your group to study together? The first and third levels of the Library offer enclosed study rooms with a conference table, a wall-mounted large-screen TV, a permanently installed PC with webcam, a bring-your-own-device (BYOD) panel, a whiteboard, and wireless access.

These eight rooms comfortably allow for group study among two to eight students.

Small group rooms capacity

  • LB 102: seats 4
  • LB 103: seats 4
  • LB 104: seats 4
  • LB 110: seats 4
  • LB 125: seats 4,
  • LB 320: seats 6, with adjustable-height table

Large group rooms capacity

  • LB 111: seats 8
  • LB 302, the Vice Chancellors' Room: seats 8

Group study room policies

  • Please book a room anytime you use it. If a room is open, you can , use the QR codes on the doors and tables in the room, or call the Service Desk at +1-812-941-2485.
  • Be sure to check in at the study room when you arrive. You may check in using the code in your reservation email or by calling +1-812-941-2485 or stopping by the Service Desk on your way to the room. If you do not check in within 15 minutes of the start of your booking, your reservation will be canceled, and the room will be available for others to reserve.
  • Group study rooms may be reserved in increments of up to 2 hours.
  • You can reserve a room up to two weeks in advance.
  • Please keep the door closed when the room is occupied.
  • Note that the first floor is a Quiet Zone area.

Conference rooms

Three well-appointed conference rooms are conveniently located on the Library's second floor. They can be reserved by IU 51ÁÔÆæ faculty and staff for official campus meetings.

All feature typical conference tables and chairs, marker boards, and bulletin boards.

Both wired and wireless internet access are available.

Large Conference Room (LB 230)

This conference room seats 24 and is equipped with a motorized projection screen, a podium, and a wet bar for catered events.

The conference tabletop features power outlets for laptops or other personal devices.

This room can be reserved through the IU 51ÁÔÆæ Conference and Dining Services Office at +1-812-941-2155.

Livingston Conference Room (LB 232C)

Named after former Library Director Frances G. Livingston, this conference room seats eight and features tabletop power outlets for laptops or other personal devices.

While it is primarily for Library-related meetings, it can be reserved for select meetings by calling the Library administrative assistant at +1-812-941-2262.
